What you need to know about backorders

You may have heard the buzz on the Web:  Stampin’ Up! was caught unprepared for the huge influx of orders for products in retiring colors.  They were prepared for an increased demand, but not for what happened.  So here’s what they are telling us:

  • For re-inkers in retiring colors, as they run out they will be placed on backorder status and those orders will be filled as quickly as Stampin’ Up! receives the product.  All backorders in May will be filled, but then the re-inkers will be available only while supplies last in June.
  • One of the problems with producing additional card stock in retiring colors is that Stampin’ Up! does not want to cut into the production of the new colors.  So, in order to provide you with the card stock in the retiring colors for as long as possible, Stampin’ Up! will be substituting textured paper for some of the smooth colors — including card stock in 8-1/2″ x 11″ as well as 12″ x 12″ — where the smooth is no longer available.   There will be no change in item code or price for these substitutions.
  • It’s possible that some product will become unavailable before the end of May, but those cases should be minimal.  I will be able to tell you that when I place your order when finalizing a workshop (but I may not know at camp).  The first item to be out of stock and depleted is 12″ x 12″ Sage Shadow Card Stock.

This has been frustrating, but Stampin’ Up! understands that you want your products — I can assure you of that.  And I want you to be satisfied with the products and customer service (theirs and mine!).  I’ll keep you in the loop as much as I can.

And before you know it, it will be July 1 and we’ll be celebrating new and fun products!  Stick with us!
