Tuesday Tip: Embossing envelopes

Why stop with the card?  Keep the paper crafting going with an extra-special envelope.  You may have heard me admonish, “No naked envelopes!”  But this goes further:  dry embossing just the flap.  Here’s how:

  1. Open the Big Shot Multi-Purpose Platform to Tab 1.  (The red star on the photo below shows the sandwich building instructions for embossing folders.)
  2. With a Standard Cutting Pad on Tab 1, place the Textured Impressions Embossing Folder so that the crease of the envelope is aligned with the edge of the folder.  Note that the flap is right-side up and the folder’s top side (with the Stampin’ Up! logo) is also facing up.  This placement ensures that you will have raised dots, and not dimples, on the outside of the flap.
  3. Gently place the other Standard Cutting Pad on top of the sandwich.  Being careful that the envelope and folder have not moved, run the sandwich through the Big Shot.
  4. Perfect!
