Stamping my fingers to the bone

I am, really, but on things I can’t post yet.  So I thought I’d better get back to last weekend’s Stampin’ Addicts Birthday Hop and give the recipe for another project.

Beware — images in photo above appear much larger than they actually are!  This little Stampin’ Up! Simply Adorned Charm measures only 1¼” x 1″ — at least, that’s the size of the insert.  It’s a challenge to use such a tiny “canvas”!  But now that I’ve got this charm in hand, I’m finding all sorts of images that I can use.  Remember, the back of the charm is also glass (but not beveled), so that you can create another insert that complements the front.  A photo would be sweet, or a favorite quote — see how this works?

Tip:  The closure on this is really firm.  The charm absolutely won’t open accidentally!  That makes it a challenge to open, but thanks to someone’s tip on Stampin’ Addicts (I think), I now simply use a dime to twist between the top pieces on the front and back.  Easy!

The rhinestone in the corner was pried out of the pronged holder.  Use needle-nosed pliers to spare your fingernails.

Stamps:  Spring Song (p. 102, En Français (p. 134)

Ink:  Basic Brown, Sahara Sand

Paper:  Very Vanilla, Certainly Celery

Accessories:  Aqua Painter and Watercolor Wonder Crayons, Scallop Trim Border Punch, Circle Ice Rhinestone Brad
