Waiting for spring

Some day!  Meanwhile, a card from the past weekend’s Stampin’ Addicts Birthday Blog Hop.  (Sorry that this card looks navy blue — it’s really purple!)

I’ve only recently bought Stampin’ Up!’s Textured Impressions embossing folders — this one arrived just last week.  The impression left by the folders is more dramatic, not as subtle as with the Texturz Plates.  (Come back tomorrow for a quick tip on effective embossing.)

Somewhere in my surfing I found a technique that mimics the embossed tin ceilings found in old stores.  There’s more to it than what I’ve done here, but I wanted to keep the look light.

Is there a more beautiful image to color that this one from Bloomin’ Beautiful?  I don’t think so … at least not yet!
