Welcome, Stampin’ Addicts Birthday Blog Hoppers!

Welcome to the Stampin’ Addicts Birthday Blog Hop weekend! Happy 1st birthday, SA!

I’m stop #3 — you may have come from the previous stop, Scrap and Stamp with Mary, and enjoyed her party favor projects.  My projects celebrate a Gardener’s Birthday.  We’ve had several sunny days in a row in north-central Illinois, and my fingers are itching to poke around my gardens and see how they fared through the winter.  However, as it snowed last night {sigh} and more is forecast, the reality is that I have many weeks to go before I can do that.  So I’ll satisfy my urge with these stamping items!

Because I don’t want to slow down your hopping, I won’t post much in the way of directions or recipes.  Please come back next week to get the whole story!  As always, click the images to view an enlarged version.

  1. Here’s something I wanted immediately when I saw it in the Holiday Mini:  The Simply Adorned Charm.  As you know, quality control issues forced Stampin’ Up! to delay the shipping of the Simply Adorned line, so I had to tap my foot impatiently.  But those jewelry items are now available (as is the Charming stamp set), and finally I’ve gotten to create something!  This little bird was masked so I could include the En Franςais image behind it.  A little bling makes this an extra-special gift for someone who loves being outside.  The glass’s beveled edges are difficult to photograph, but oh so pretty!
  2. Even though the box for the Simply Adorned pendant is quite nice (and easy to embellish), I wanted something else.  I’ve made many of these textured flowers for boxes and tins.  They’re simple to do and — considering they’re paper — quite sturdy.
  3. This birthday card plays with the tin ceiling tile look — nothing more than Brushed Silver card stock run through the Finial Press Textured Impressions Embossing Folder and punched out.  I didn’t want to take too much away from the stamped image, so I kept things simple.
  4. And finally, something in a different color scheme!  I am drawn toward yellow at this time of late winter, and this decorative ceramic tile certainly perks up my mood.  Once again the main image was masked for En Franςais.  Coloring with Craft ink and baking the tile in the oven makes this “color safe.”  (However, I wouldn’t use it as a conventional coaster.)

Stampinaddicts.com is a free website dedicated to supporting Stampin’ Up! stampers and demonstrators alike. Our motto is “Positively Creative! Positively Stampin’ Up!”  If you have not been to Stampin’ Addicts, you should check them out as soon as you finish the Birthday Blog Hop!

And as part of its first birthday this month, another way we are celebrating is with a Birthday Stamp Jam on this very weekend, consisting of four birthday-related paper crafting challenges.  Play along!

Your next stop is Dawnmarie’s blog dmdezigns — she has designed  projects for the birthday girl using the Big Shot.  Enjoy!

Those are all beautiful!! Love the little scallops in the corner of the pendant, and I never thought about just putting embossed squares instead of that being a big piece, but it makes it look so elegant, and great coloring on the flowers and pot!! You did a wonderful job!!
