Can plagues and pestilence be far behind?

Early Wednesday morning, deep in TylenolPM-induced sleep, I was shaken awake by an earthquake.  Yes!  Here in north central Illinois!  Now, it was an event barely worth mentioning in light of Haiti’s earthquake, but in our own experience, pretty … yes, I was going to say earth-shaking.

So yesterday afternoon I felt the need to get in touch with some of the kinder, gentler aspects of nature.
