Something’s ruffled, but not feathers

Did you know that ruffles are “in”?  I read it here, and I’m not at all surprised.  I was at Target earlier this week, looking — in vain — for the perfect shower curtain, and saw Shabby Chic towels with ruffles.

But with my seamstress days far behind me, I’ll be content to put ruffles in paper.  You may remember seeing an earlier post about the ruffled medallion here, complete with directions.  Once you make one, you get it.

Do you recognize the Love You Much set from the Occasions Mini here?  The smaller flower image (also stamped tone-on-tone at the lower edge of the card) was covered up with small Faux Diamond Dust hearts — the perfect match for the “petals’ of this flower, leaving just enough petal showing to act as an outline.

If getting those hearts adhered to the image sounds tricky, you’ll want to try my Tuesday Tip involving toothpicks!

Stamps:  Love You Much (Occasions Mini)

Ink:  Real Red, VersaMark

Paper:  Real Red, Whisper White, Pawsitively Prints Designer Series Paper (still available!), Pretty in Pink

Other:  Scallop Edge Punch, Crimper, Scallop Circle Punch, Heat Tool and Stampin’ Emboss Powder (Iridescent Ice), Heart to Heart Punch, 1¼” Circle Punch, Bold Brights brad (Real Red), Stampin’ Dimensionals

We found the perfect shower curtain at Menards of all places! Made from an Eco-friendly material that has no icky plastic smell. I chose one in a mulberry paper like design.

  2. Debra,
