Spicy butterfly

Curry Butterfly

The new Crushed Curry In Color has been a challenge for me to work with.  In small doses, it’s OK.  Maybe that’s just like the spice — too much is too much!  Some day I’ll have to share a recipe for curried cabbage that we love;  when I made it last week I realized that this new Stampin’ Up! color is aptly named!

So I discovered that it pairs well with So Saffron (two spices — coincidence???).  This card uses the double scalloped medallion design that one of our July camp cards also uses.  The trick is the size of the squares you use; the mat is only 1/8″ larger than the main panel.  Each side of each square is punched just once with the Scallop Edge Punch.

The butterfly, cut with the Big Shot, is adhered under the button; the two wings are lifted with Dimensionals.

Stamps:  Circle Circus

Ink:  Soft Suede, Crushed Curry

Paper:  So Saffron, Soft Suede, Crushed Curry, Naturals Ivory

Other:  Scalloped Edge Punch, Big Shot, Beautiful Butterflies Die, Fresh Favorites II Colored Button (So Saffron), Stampin’ Dimensionals, embroidery floss
