The circus continues

Split medallion

Here’s something of a sneak preview of July’s camps.  I promised new stamps, new paper, new accessories, and new techniques — and this card has them all!

A card with the opening in the center of the front (or off center, as mine is) is called a gatefold card.  Various methods are used to keep the “gate” shut, such as a button on each side with string wound around both or a buckle-type closure.  This is called a Split Medallion or Interlocking Medallion.  It’s another of those techniques that, once you see it in person, is very easy to do.  For now, you’ll have to come to camp to get more instructions!  (Have you registered?)

This monochromatic scheme is so appealing for me, and I’m trying to recall some summer sundress with a similar combination of dots and circles.

So far, 75% of our camp projects will use the fabulous 1/2″ Polka-Dot Grosgrain Ribbon — I’ve already had to order more!

Stamps:  Circle Circus, Teeny Tiny Wishes

Ink:  Soft Suede

Paper:  Soft Suede, Whisper White

Other:  1/2″ Polka-Dot Grosgrain Ribbon (Soft Suede), Circle Punches (Scallop, 1-3/8″, 1-1/4″, 1″
