Still fishing

I saw a striking card from Sheryl Dickinson using a new technique (new to me, that is) called Dragged Madras, published in the Technique Junkie Newsletter.  I’m no longer a subscriber, but I think I pretty much figured it out:  it’s simply masking and sponging.  Use Dotto to keep the Whisper White panel fixed and the markings on your grid paper to keep the mask straight.

When I first saw Sheryl’s card I thought of bathroom tile.  Does this recall anyone’s childhood?

This is my first attempt; the colors are pretty shrill!  So I’ll try something else.  But I was reminded how wonderful Stampin’ Up!’s Whisper White card stock is to stamp on.  I’ve said before that buying WW was one of the last things I did as a new stamper — it seemed so expensive, and I could get white card stock from Wal-Mart for a lot less.  But there is no comparison.  Try your own test if you’re skeptical!
